FX Orders Comedy Series From ‘Community’ Actor

An actor known for his work on the NBC series “Community” will star in a new comedy series on FX. Donald Glover, best known for playing Troy on “Community,” landed a deal for “Atlanta,” the Los Angeles Times reports.

The 10-episode, half-hour series, created and executive produced by Glover, focuses on the Atlanta rap scene.

Said Nick Grad, FX president of Original Programming: “’Atlanta’ draws on Donald’s considerable talents as a musician, actor and writer to give us something unique.”

Produced by FX Productions and set to roll out in 2016. the show will also star Brian Tyree Henry, Lakeith Lee Stanfield and Zazie Beetz.
