Is Jimmy Fallon Accident-Prone? The NBC Mainstay Suffers Another Hand Injury

You have to “hand” it to “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon, who landed in the hospital again with another hand injury. The NBC mainstay is fine, and the latest injury, which took place while he was in Massachusetts to be honored by the Harvard Lampoon, turned out to be pretty minor.

Fallon badly injured his left hand over the summer, requiring surgery and 10 days in the ICU. This time around it was the right hand that suffered, but apparently it was limited to minor cuts and Fallon later posted a message on Instagram saying it was “nothing a few band aids couldn’t fix.”

People magazine reports that the latest incident took place when Fallon “tripped and fell while holding a bottle of Jaegermeister, and subsequently made a trip to Massachusetts General Hospital.”

The report adds: “A source tells People that ‘everything is totally fine’ and ‘It was all part of the celebration in the street and some random girl kneeled down in front of him abruptly as he was turning around and he tripped over her because he didn’t see her.'”

Fallon was visiting the Harvard University campus in Cambridge to receive the prestigious Elmer Award for Excellence in Humor — an honor that was also once bestowed on his “Tonight Show” predecessor, Jay Leno. Other recipients have included Jimmy Durante, Lenny Bruce and Robin Williams.

In case you missed it, here’s the not-for-the-squeamish clip of Fallon talking about his previous hand injury, from his return to the “Tonight Show” back in July:
