Joe Biden Tugs at Our Heartstrings When He Goes on Shows Like ‘The Late Show’ and Wears His Mourning for His Son on His Heartsleeve. Says Politico, Biden Is Also Very Calculating

“Joe Biden has been making his 2016 deliberations all about his late son since August,” writes Edward-Isaac Dovere at Politico.

Dovere notes that on Aug. 1 the influential columnist Maureen Dowd of The New York Times wrote a column that painted “a tragic portrait of [Biden’s] dying son Beau’s face partially paralyzed, sitting his father down and trying to make him promise to run for president because ‘the White House should not revert to the Clintons and that the country would be better off with Biden values.’”

Dovere writes, in a scoop, that the source of Dowd’s story was Joe Biden himself.

Dovere continues: “It was no coincidence that the preliminary pieces around a prospective campaign started moving right after that column. People read Dowd and started reaching out, those around the vice president would say by way of defensive explanation. He was just answering the phone and listening.

“But in truth, Biden had effectively placed an ad in The New York Times, asking them to call.”

  1. If Biden is smart he will just sit tight until after the holidays. Like Trump, everyone knows who he is and he can keep exploiting media for a lot of free promotion. Meantime Hillary can continue to keep digging her hole deeper. If Joe announces at the NCAA Championship game that he is running, it will excite the public and press. He will likely be in about the same position as he is now, and could easily win Iowa and New Hampshire.
