Three more accusers have stepped forward with sexual allegations against legendary comedian and actor Bill Cosby, bringing the total to more than 50. The New York Times reports that attorney Gloria Allred, who represents more than 20 women making allegations against Cosby, introduced the latest accusers at a press conference Wednesday.

Allred is quoted in The Times saying: “These three courageous women want Mr. Cosby to be accountable for what they believe was his misconduct towards them.” But she also noted that legal action against Cosby is not an option in their cases due to the statute of limitations.

One previously existing case that remains alive is that of Cosby accuser Judy Huth, who was 15 at the time she says she was molested by Cosby at the Playboy Mansion in 1974. Gawker reports: “Because she was underage at the time, she was able to bring the allegations — specifically, that Cosby grabbed her hand and used it to masturbate — after California’s statute of limitations on criminal sexual assault had run out.”

Cosby is reportedly scheduled for a deposition in the case Oct. 9, when he will be questioned about Huth’s allegations.

The New York Times report notes: “Mr. Cosby’s lawyers said they had filed a motion for a protective order seeking to keep this questioning private. Ms. Huth’s legal team has filed an opposing motion seeking to make the deposition public, and a hearing on whether to allow the protective order is scheduled for Oct. 5, Ms. Allred said.”

One of the latest accusers is Lisa Christie, a former model and Mrs. America who reportedly appeared in Jell-O commercials with Cosby and was an extra on “The Cosby Show.” She described an alleged encounter with Cosby when she was 18.

“Christie isn’t accusing Cosby of raping her, but she describes an extremely close call after he flew her out to a hotel in Chicago,” Gawker reports. “She says Cosby gave her a drink and tried to kiss her, but she turned him down — she described him in her statement as a ‘father figure’ — and he got mad.”

Christie claims Cosby told her: “You’re never going to make it in this business unless you sleep with me,” according to Gawker. The report quotes Christie saying: “With Mr. Cosby I was one of the fortunate ones to escape. Now I am here to support all of the victims.”

  1. If you think that Cosby wasn’t surrounded by a lot of enablers who kept this stuff quiet all along, consider this: a Cosby Show staffer was fired and blackballed way back in 1992 for writing this script–and the guy had already been doing this stuff for 20 years! http://thelostcosbyshowepisode.blogspot.com/
