A video that was recently posted online set a record by chalking up an amazing 112 million views in 24 hours. The video is the trailer for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” which you can see below.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision reports that Lucasfilm was reporting the record on StarWars.com.

“Combined with the 16 million viewers that tuned in to watch the trailer on ‘Monday Night Football,’ that’s a total of 128 million views,” THR notes.

The excitement over the new “Star Wars” movie, which arrives in theaters Dec. 18, is also setting other records. Advance ticket sales reportedly set 24-hour records in a number of countries, even while a number of ticket sites crashed due to the heavy demand.

The new “Star Wars” teaser is the third for the upcoming movie, and is breaking records set by the previous teaser for the same movie, THR notes.

“The first teaser, which premiered on Nov. 28, 2014, hit 55 million views in first 24 hours and 110 million in first 12 days,” THR reports. “The second trailer, which debuted in April 2015 at Star Wars Celebration, got 88 million views in first 24 hours and 145 million in first week.”
