Basketball superstar Kobe Bryant, who has spent his 20 seasons in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers, announced his retirement Sunday, sparking heavy traffic that crashed the Internet site where Bryant posted a farewell poem to the game of basketball.
Bryant, who was a part of five NBA championships with the Lakers, said he will retire at the end of this season. He posted his farewell on the Players’ Tribune. His poem can be found here.
Bryant is a 17-time All-Star selection and has two Olympic gold medals as a member of Team USA.
