TBS is moving forward with a half-hour, single-camera comedy project focused on inner-city Detroit. The cable channel has ordered a presentation for “The D,” Deadline.com reports, noting that the project features a puppet.
“The show was created by rising Detroit-native stand-up comedian Chris Powell aka Comedian CP, and by ‘King of the Hill’ alum Chip Hall. Powell and Hall are producing with Rough House Pictures and Doug Banker at Five All in the Fifth,” the story reports.
The show follows the exploits of CP on the mean streets of Detroit with his “best friend,” Reggie Bo — described in the report as “essentially an inner-city version of Elmo.”
