Third-quarter results for Tribune Media, reported today, show higher revenue in the Television and Entertainment segment. TVNewsCheck reports that the company posted revenue of $429.7 million in the segment, up $11.4 million, or 3%, from $418.3 million a year ago.

Ad revenues dipped slightly, to $319.5, down $2.4 million, or 1%, from $321.9 million in the third quarter of 2014. The loss reflected a decrease in political advertising, with 2015 being an off-cycle year. Excluding political, core advertising increased $12.1 million.

Also contributing to the revenue figures, local station retransmission consent fees were $69.9 million in the third quarter, up 20% from $58.1 million a year earlier, and carriage fees were $19.5 million in the third quarter of 2015, up 38% from $14.0 million in 2014.
