The cable network A&E has filled a key programming position. The network announced it has brought aboard Amy Savitsky as Senior VP, Development & Programming.
Making the announcement today was Elaine Frontain Bryant, Executive Vice President & Head of Programming for A&E.
Savitsky will be based in New York and will have the task of driving non-fiction development for the network. She will report to Frontain Bryant.
“Amy joins A&E with a proven track record of developing long-running franchises that engage viewers,” said Frontain Bryant. “With her experience developing buzzy factual content, Amy is the perfect fit for the A&E brand.”
The announcement adds: “Savitsky joins A&E after more than a decade at Discovery Communications. Most recently she served as Senior Vice President of Development for TLC, where she oversaw the day-to-day management of the network’s development team. She managed key relationships in the production community and supervised the editorial, budgetary and delivery components of the development process.”
The announcement notes that Shelly Tatro continues to serve as Senior Vice President, Development & Programming, and will combine with Savitsky to manage the programming and development team.
