The cable network A&E has filled a key programming position. The network announced it has brought aboard Amy Savitsky as Senior VP, Development & Programming.

Making the announcement today was Elaine Frontain Bryant, Executive Vice President & Head of Programming for A&E.

Savitsky will be based in New York and will have the task of driving non-fiction development for the network. She will report to Frontain Bryant.

“Amy joins A&E with a proven track record of developing long-running franchises that engage viewers,” said Frontain Bryant. “With her experience developing buzzy factual content, Amy is the perfect fit for the A&E brand.”

The announcement adds: “Savitsky joins A&E after more than a decade at Discovery Communications. Most recently she served as Senior Vice President of Development for TLC, where she oversaw the day-to-day management of the network’s development team.
