A former CBS correspondent has been going after challenging stories on a new investigative news program that has been airing since October. TVNewsCheck reports that “Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson” is part of a national strategy for Sinclair Broadcasting, which produces the program.
The show airs on Sundays on 162 TV stations in 79 markets, including affiliates of ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox. It has been presenting “investigative stories about terrorists, refugees, immigration, national security, government waste, corporate corruption, and interviews with presidential candidates, politicians, experts and other newsmakers,” TVNewsCheck reports.
Said Scott Livingston, Sinclair VP of News, who oversees production of the half-hour show: “It helps us establish a national presence. We hope this program reinforces what we stand for across the country in all of our local markets. This is what we’re trying to do in our local stations, go beyond the headlines, and this program helps reinforce that.”
