A supernatural drama and a coming-of-age thriller are headed to Hulu, which is putting the finishing touches on pilot deals for “Citizen” and “When the Street Lights Go On.” Deadline.com reports that both projects are from Paramount TV and Anonymous Content, coming via the companies’ first-look deal.

“Citizen” is a supernatural drama from Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, director of “Me And Earl and the Dying Girl.” “Created, written and executive produced by Gomez-Rejon, Josh Pate and ‎Nicholas Schutt, ‘Citizen’ is described as a fresh take on the hero origin story blending elements of magical realism and gritty vigilantism set against the backdrop of a vibrant, ‘supernaturalized’ Los Angeles,” Deadline notes.

“When the Street Lights Go On,” adapted from the script by Chris Hutton and Eddie O’Keefe, is said to be in the vein of “Stand by Me.” The coming-of-age story is set in “a sleepy, suburban town that is rocked by the brutal murder of a high school girl and her teacher in the summer of 1983,” the story notes.
