The McDonald’s fast-food chain appears to be headed in a surprising new direction with French fries. USA Today reports that the company is trying out chocolate-covered fries, with the product launching across Japan starting Jan. 26.
The McChoco Potato is drizzled with two kinds of chocolate sauces — one dark and one white chocolate. In a statement, McDonald’s says: “The combination creates a wonderful salty and sweet harmonious taste.”
The report notes that McDonald’s Japan has previously offered Shaka Shaka Potato fries, covered with cheese sauce or bacon.
