Sumner Redstone’s Former Girlfriend Scores Partial Victory in Court Battle

The ex-girlfriend of Sumner Redstone won a partial victory in court as she sues to be a part of decision making involving the 92-year-old Viacom chairman.

Reuters reports that Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge David Cowan on Monday granted a request by Manuela Herzer to depose Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman and two of Redstone’s doctors. However, the judge did not allow a deposition of Redstone himself, opting to hold off on that decision until he hears from the doctors.

“Cowan’s ruling on Monday was in response to a 200-page motion filed last week by Herzer claiming that a declaration by Dauman about his discussions with Redstone was ‘riddled with falsehoods,’ because Redstone could not speak,” Reuters reports. “Herzer also alleged that Redstone’s signature had been forged on a document filed with the court.”
