CNN is preparing to roll out a new series, which will be an extension of one of the cable news channel’s trademark franchises. Variety reports that the channel will launch “The Eighties” on Thursday, March 31, at 9 p.m. ET.
The project continues CNN’s decade-by-decade retrospectives that have included the 2014 launch of “The Sixties” and last year’s “The Seventies.”
The newest installment will be a seven-part series. Variety notes that the first episode will be a two-hour program focusing on the decade’s television shows — similar to one of the episodes of “The Seventies.”
Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman and Mark Herzog are producers on “The Eighties.”
