Feb 25, 2016  •  Post A Comment

The TV series version of “School of Rock” is about to roll out, with a premiere date set for Saturday, March 12, on Nickelodeon. Based on the 2003 feature film starring Jack Black, Nick’s live-action adaptation is a youth-oriented musical comedy starring Tony Cavalero, Ricardo Hurtado, Lance Lim, Aidan Miner, Jade Pettyjohn and Breanna Yde.

Nickelodeon announced that the program, produced with Paramount Television, will air regularly on Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT. The series was developed by Jim and Steve Armogida (“Crash & Bernstein,” “Grounded for Life”), who also serve as executive producers with Jay Kogen (“The Simpsons,” “Henry Danger”).

Richard Linklater, who directed the feature film, and the film’s producer Scott Rudin are on board as executive producers along with Eli Bush.

Nickelodeon posted this “official music video” in connection with the project last month (not for grownups!) …
