WGA Awards Boost Oscar Contenders, Spoof SAG Awards

The Writers Guild of America handed out its 2016 awards over the weekend, firming up some of the front-runners for the Academy Awards while keeping things light and mocking other awards that may take themselves too seriously.

TVWeek Open Mic writer Hillary Atkin reports that a favorite target during the ceremony was the Screen Actors Guild, with its “… and I’m an actor” proclamations during its own awards.
