Comedy Central Rolls Out Ambitious Development Slate — 11 Pilot Orders, 10 New Specials … Along With Five New Series Pickups

Comedy Central will be unleashing an onslaught of new programming, with the cable channel revealing an ambitious development slate that includes 11 pilot orders and 10 new specials.

The network also greenlighted five new series: “Jeff Ross Presents: Roast Battle”; an untitled comedy documentary series; a digital series starring Nick Swardson and Simon Rex; and two stand-up series produced by Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat Productions.

Comedy Central’s slate of specials includes new one-hour stand-up performances featuring Kurt Braunohler, Deon Cole, Pete Davidson, Joe DeRosa, Trevor Moore, Big Jay Oakerson, Dan Soder and “The Goddamn Comedy Jam.”

New production deals include projects from Amy Schumer, Chris Hardwick, Channing Tatum, Olivia Wilde, Jack Black, Eva Longoria, Ed Helms, Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone, Abominable Pictures, Above Average, Funny Or Die, Gloria Sanchez Productions and Serious Business.

The network also signed talent development deals with “The Daily Show’s” Jessica Williams and Jordan Klepper.
