The full reveal is still a few days away for season 22 of the ABC competition “Dancing with the Stars,” but the cast lineup is beginning to take shape. Starpulse.com reports that dancer Derek Hough, who has been a mainstay of the show since 2007 and has chalked up a record six season wins — including his win with partner Bindi Irwin last November — is off the show.
Also exiting, according to the report, is Hough’s sister, Julianne, who will vacate her spot at the judges’ table for at least one season.
People magazine reports that Derek Hough is taking a break from “DWTS” to appear on Broadway in the Gene Kelly role in “Singin’ in the Rain.”
“The upcoming season of ‘DWTS’ will feature judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tolioni and Len Goodman,” People reports.
Starpulse adds that two pro dancers have been confirmed for season 22: Keo Motsepe and Edyta Sliwinska. Motsepe’s celebrity partner will be “Fuller House” star Jodie Sweeten, according to the report.
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kim Fields has also been confirmed as a celebrity contestant, according to Starpulse.
“Still on the rumored list for Season 22 are ‘Orange Is the New Black’ actress Taryn Manning, ‘Bachelor’ Ben Higgins, ‘Chasing Life’ star Italia Ricci, Olympic Gold medalist Dominique Moceanu, Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown, and N.Y. Giants RB Rashad Jennings,” Starpulse adds.
The official announcement of celebrities and their pro partners is set for March 8 on “Good Morning America.”
