The increasingly rancorous battle for the Republican presidential nomination continues to deliver eyeballs for the candidates’ debates. Variety reports that Fox News Channel’s Thursday night debate, which marked the return of Donald Trump to the FNC debates, pulled an audience of 16.9 million viewers, based on early Nielsen data.
It was the highest-rated debate so far this year and the fourth-highest primary debate in history, the report notes. “The debate, moderated by Bret Baier, Megyn Kelly and Chris Wallace, delivered 5.5 million viewers between 25 and 54, the demographic most coveted by advertisers,” Variety notes.
By comparison, CNN and Telemundo drew 14.23 million viewers and 4 million viewers in the 25-to-54 demo for their coverage of the Feb. 25 GOP debate, the report notes.
It, like the rest of them, was NOT a Debate.
Shouting match. maybe, but NO DEBATE.
