Members of some of the most famous boy bands in the world are on board for a genre-bending TV movie premiering next week on Syfy. “Dead 7,” described by the cable channel as a post-apocalyptic zombie Western mashup flick, unspools next Friday, April 1.

The two-hour movie stars Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys as Jack, a reluctant hero who unites a bunch of outlaws in a showdown against a zombie menace.

“Also starring in ‘Dead 7′ are Carter’s wife, actress Lauren Kitt-Carter; Backstreet Boys AJ McLean and Howie Dorough; *NSYNC’s Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick; 98 Degrees’ Jeff Timmons; O-Town’s Erik-Michael Estrada, Jacob Underwood, Trevor Penick and Dan Miller; Carrie Keagan (‘Reno 911!’); Debra Wilson (‘MadTV’); Frenchie Davis (Season 2 ‘American Idol,’ and ‘The Voice’ Season 1 semifinalist); Gerardo Mejía (of ‘Rico Suave’ fame); Everclear’s Art Alexakis and Grammy winner Jon Secada,” the network announced in a press release.

The project comes from the team behind the hit “Sharknado.”
