Signs of a thaw have been reported in the not-so-cold war between Fox News host Megyn Kelly and GOP presidential contender Donald Trump. Variety reports that Trump and Kelly “may be ready to make peace.”
“The Fox News anchor visited the Republican presidential candidate Wednesday at his New York apartment in the hopes of getting him to appear on a new prime-time special slated to air on the cable network’s broadcast sister, the Fox broadcast network, on May 23,” Variety reports.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Fox News said today: “Fox News Chairman & CEO Roger Ailes has spoken to Donald Trump a few times over the past three months about appearing on a Fox Broadcasting special with Megyn Kelly airing on May 23. Kelly requested a meeting with Mr. Trump, which took place at Trump Tower this morning. The results of that meeting will be revealed on tonight’s Kelly File at 9 p.m./ET. Kelly has acknowledged in recent interviews that Trump is a fascinating person to cover and has electrified the Republican base.”
