Why Stephen A. Smith Stormed Off the Set on ESPN’s ‘First Take’ — Here’s the Video

ESPN fixture Stephen A. Smith walked off the set of “First Take” this morning after warning the show’s producers to stop playing a background song about Tim Tebow that gets on Smith’s nerves.

The spontaneous stunt appeared to be “mainly” in fun, even though it’s well-known that the issue of Tebow is an especially contentious one between Smith and his perennial foil on the show, Skip Bayless.

The Tebow song, “All He Does Is Win,” was recorded during Tebowmania in 2011 and includes audio samples from “First Take,” notably featuring Bayless raving about the former NFL quarterback: “He’s a gamer,” “He’s a baller,” “All he does is win,” etc.

On this morning’s show, Smith was back in place at the debate desk following a commercial break.
