After Winning $140 Million Ruling Against Gawker, Hulk Hogan Is Going After the Website Again Over a Different Issue

Hulk Hogan has filed a new lawsuit against Gawker, after he won a $140 million judgment against the website in March in a lawsuit over a secretly recorded sex tape. Reuters reports that the issue in the new case, which also stems from the sex tape, involves racist remarks, which Gawker is being accused of leaking.

Hogan filed the new suit today in Florida.

“Hogan’s new lawsuit said New York-based Gawker helped to make public a conversation from the consensual sexual encounter, which he says was recorded without his knowledge a decade ago,” Reuters reports. “After the racially charged tirade was published last summer by the National Enquirer, Hogan was fired by World Wrestling Entertainment and lost endorsements that left his finances and reputation ruined, the lawsuit said.”

The sex clip that was at the center of the previous lawsuit did not include the racial comments.

Gawker is challenging the decision in the earlier case, and said in a statement today that it did not leak the racial comments. “It’s time for Hulk Hogan to take responsibility for his own words, because the only person who got Hulk Hogan fired from the WWE is Hulk Hogan,” the company said in the statement.
