Why the Rolling Stones Are Going After Donald Trump

May 5, 2016  •  Post A Comment

The Rolling Stones have sent a message to Donald Trump, putting out a statement Wednesday requesting that he cease all use of the band’s songs, The Washington Times reports. The move comes after Trump reportedly used the Stones song “Start Me Up” at a campaign event Tuesday night.

Trump has also been playing “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” on the campaign trail, the report notes.

The band said in its statement that it has not given permission to Trump to use its songs.

“The Trump campaign has in the past stopped playing hits by Adele, Aerosmith and Neil Young when those artists got wind of Mr. Trump’s use and made public objections,” the report adds.

  1. As long as he is paying royalties, they should have no complaints. A song is not an endorsement.

  2. Trump should be more respectful of his elders.

  3. Trump should be showing clips from “Liar Liar” and “A Face in the Crowd.”

  4. Poking a hornets nest with a stick is never a good idea! At this point it is a very good possibility that Mr. Trump will be the next president of the US. For entertainers/celebrities to make petty issues out of things like playing a song at a rally just doesn’t seem like a very bright thing to do. In fact entertainers that get too involved into politics without maintaining a non-partisan (at least in public) position, generally find that they begin playing to smaller crowds!

  5. TRUMP 2016!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Goodbye ‘Crooked Hillary”!

  6. They just don’t want him to be able to eventually use “Under My Thumb”.
