“The West Wing” creator Aaron Sorkin had some interesting comments about his departure from the NBC drama series after four seasons, including why he decided not to watch the series after he left the show.
The New York Post’s Page Six reports that Sorkin, speaking during a “West Wing” reunion panel session Saturday at the ATX festival, said: “It felt like I was watching someone make out with my wife.”
Sorkin also addressed a question from a fan who asked whether he was “throwing story grenades at the whole premise of the show as [he was] leaving.”
Said Sorkin: “I was trying to set the table for the people who were coming in. I didn’t want them to come back that July with a completely blank piece of paper. I know it helps me when there’s a little something left over.”
He added: “To be clear, I was absolutely not trying to burn the earth.”
