ABC Takes Wraps Off Prime-Time Schedule, Premiere Dates for Fall

ABC today rolled out its prime-time schedule for the 2016-17 season, with five new series joining the lineup. The season launches Monday, Sept. 12, with the season 23 premiere of “Dancing with the Stars.”

Among the highlights, the new drama series “Designated Survivor” marks the return of Kiefer Sutherland to prime time, with the show’s premiere set for Wednesday, Sept. 21. “Notorious,” from attorney Mark Geragos and cable news producer Wendy Walker, bows Thursday, Sept. 22, and “Conviction,” featuring Hayley Atwell, launches Monday, Oct. 3.

Two new comedies are on tap — “Speechless,” starring Minnie Driver, bows Wednesday, Sept. 21, and “American Housewife,” with Katy Mixon, rolls out Tuesday, Oct. 11.
