CNN Faces ‘Internal Revolt’ Over Controversial Hire

Jun 28, 2016  •  Post A Comment

CNN has been dealing with “discomfort” in its ranks and has had to deal with what’s being described as an internal revolt over its hiring of former Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, according to The New York Post’s Page Six.

The hiring, including Lewandowski’s rumored $500,000 paycheck, was reportedly investigated by CNN media reporter Brian Stelter after a previous New York Post report, published Friday night, described a “staff revolt” at CNN, with women, Latinos and others among those feeling “betrayed by an homage to Trump.”

The latest report quotes a source at CNN saying: “There’s lots of embarrassment internally at CNN at how blatantly [CNN boss] Jeff Zucker used his in-house media reporter this weekend to try to cast shade on the Page Six report of internal revolt over the Corey payola.”

Commenting on Stelter’s “Reliable Sources” report, The Post’s source adds: “This one was so obvious, it felt like we worked for Pravda [the communist newspaper].”

The CNN insider is also quoted saying: “There’s anger internally at the way Zucker has handled his pal Trump from the beginning . . . but it has reached its boiling point . . . Especially since Zucker was off in Cannes . . . it felt like they didn’t have their hands on the wheel right as the vehicle was careening off the cliff.”

  1. If I was a left wing Regressive, I’d feel betrayed too. When you are a shill for the Democratic Party, and in particular Hillary Clinton, hiring Lewandowski might mean something other than glowing praise for Hillary might be presented on CNN. CNN used to be unbiased and would treat Democrats and Republicans alike. It used to be the place to go for fair and honest reporting. Unfortunately, those days are long gone. I wish there were more reporters alive today that would be willing to do what Jack Anderson used to do.

  2. Amen to that Skeptical. After the disgusting way Anderson Cooper acted toward the Florida AG people at CNN should just be embarrassed for their network.

  3. And those panel discussions are BRUTAL!

  4. Proving once again that there can be no deviation from the groupthink at CNN or the other networks.

You must toe the hard left line or else be actively disparaged and not allowed to speak.
