A new series in the works at Showtime has lined up Daniel Craig to star and executive produce. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the James Bond actor is on board for a 20-episode limited drama series based on “Purity,” the latest novel from Jonathan Franzen.

“The series, picked up with a 20-episode order after fielding multiple bidders, centers on a young woman named Purity (who is known by the name of Pip) who, in search of answers about herself and her family, winds up interning in South America at the Sunlight Project, a group which deals with all the secrets of the world,” THR reports. “It’s described as a story about youthful idealism, fidelity and murder. Craig is eyed to play Andreas, a German provocateur who crosses paths with Pip.”

The project is being written, directed and executive produced by Todd Field, with Scott Rudin, Eli Bush, Franzen and David Hare also lined up as executive producers. Production is expected to begin in 2017.
