A comedy-drama series that bowed last fall has received a renewal for a third season, while one of its producers signed a first-look deal with Hulu. The streaming service announced the pickup for “Casual” and the new deal with Jason Reitman, who directs and executive produces the show.
The show, from Hulu and Lionsgate Television, received a 13-episode order for season three, to debut in 2017. Season two premiered on Hulu June 7, with new episodes coming out every Tuesday.
Reitman’s first-look development deal with Hulu is the streaming service’s first of its kind.
Created by Zander Lehmann, “Casual” is executive produced by Reitman, Lehmann, Helen Estabrook and Liz Tigelaar. The series stars Michaela Watkins, Tommy Dewey and Tara Lynne Barr.
