A 25-year-old female singer has been labeled as the future of indie rock. The singer, who records under the name Mitski and whose full name is Mitski Miyawaki, hails from New York and has put out four albums to date, including “Puberty 2,” out this month.

“Mitski uses the tropes of indie rock to make something novel,” The New Yorker says.

Brooklyn Magazine declares that she’s “poised to take over the music world.”

Rolling Stone calls Mitski “indie rock’s sharpest young singer-songwriter.”
