The CEO of pay-cable channel Starz will be sticking around for a while. Variety reports that Chris Albrecht signed a contract extension that will keep him in the post through 2020, with the added title of president.
Said Starz Chairman Greg Maffei: “Chris has developed Starz into a leading, innovative entertainment brand with award-winning original programing that resonates with U.S. and international audiences. He has made remarkable contributions to the business over the past six years, and we look forward to his vision creating even more value for distributors, partners and shareholders.”
Variety notes that Albrecht has overseen the network’s push into original scripted programming, including shows such as “Black Sails” and “Power.”
