The editor-in-chief at USA Today is stepping down from the flagship Gannett newspaper to take on a leadership role at the financial news and services website TheStreet.
The New York Post reports that David Callaway was named Thursday as TheStreet’s new chief executive. Callaway will be reunited at TheStreet with Larry Kramer, the former president and publisher of USA Today who left the paper in 2015 to become chairman of TheStreet.
Callaway “will step down from the helm of the Gannett flagship on July 1. Joanne Lipman, Gannett’s chief content officer, named Patty Michalski to temporarily run the paper,” The Post reports.
