A Justin Bieber fan who underwent a series of plastic surgeries in an effort to look like the pop singer, and who was found dead last year in a Motel 6 in the San Fernando Valley, died from “a lethal mix of pain killers, alcohol and anti-anxiety medicine, authorities said,” the Los Angeles Times reports, citing an autopsy report released Monday by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

Tobias M. Strebel, who went by the name Toby Sheldon, became famous for undergoing cosmetic surgeries to look like Bieber, spending as much as $100,000 in the process. He appeared on the E! series “Botched” to talk about his surgeries (see clip below). Strebel also appeared on the show “My Strange Addiction.”

Strebel was found dead Aug. 21, 2015, in a Motel 6 along Roscoe Boulevard in North Hills, the Times notes. He was 35.

TMZ notes that the autopsy report says Strebel “had all kinds of narcotic painkillers and prescription drugs in his system at the time of death. The L.A. County Coroner says he had a combination of the painkillers oxycodone and hydrocodone, diazepam (Valium) … sleep aids zolpidem and temazepam, alprazolam (Xanax) and alcohol.”

The Times notes that the toxicology report was not signed off on until May 19, about nine months after Strebel’s death.

“Analysis of Strebel’s death has been marked by delays,” The Times notes. “The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office said last year that it had not conclusively identified the body as Strebel’s, partly because of difficulties reaching his mother in Germany and the decomposed state of his body.”
