Bill O’Reilly vs. Montel Williams: Why Montel Walked Out on O’Reilly’s Fox News Show

A scheduled appearance by Montel Williams on “The O’Reilly Factor” became a war of words between Williams and Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly after Williams bailed out on the interview at the last minute.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, O’Reilly was unclear on why Williams walked out. In a clip aired Wednesday night on O’Reilly’s live broadcast from the GOP Convention, O’Reilly tells Eric Bolling: “He walked out in a huff. The producer tells me he was mad about some gay thing.”

O’Reilly goes on to say: “It is his loss because he will never be on this program again. He’s not a man of his word, he’s unprofessional. Montel look, I’ve known you for a long time, but that is about as low as it gets.”

“Williams later shared his side of the story via a Periscope post where he said he did not appear on the show after realizing the topic discussion had been changed without his approval,” THR reports. “Williams told CNNMoney he understood he would be discussing a poll suggesting President Barack Obama is racist as well as talking about the speech he gave during an LGBT brunch that Caitlyn Jenner also attended. The brunch was part of the RNC.”

Williams reportedly told CNN: “Suddenly Eric Bolling is involved and it’s all about Obama being a racist. I walked before air, they chased me halfway around the building. My detail had to stop them … I’m solely focused on my [LGBT] speech. When that was eliminated, why stay?”

  1. Well Montel is no stranger to things going off topic and changing on the spot as he had his own show for many years. There’s no excuse, he should have stayed and said what he had to say, end of story, very unprofessional and another example of a crybaby. Montel knows better and knew what he was doing, it’s deplorable to me as I was a huge fan for many years and had nothing but respect for him but quite disgusted after what he did last night

  2. I guess I’m confused. Montel says he understood he would be discussing a new poll suggesting Obama is racist as well as discussing the speech he gave at the LGBTQ brunch at the Republican National Convention. The only thing that changed was Eric Bolling. Montel was STILL supposed to discuss Obama’s perceived racism as well as the LGBTQ brunch. What’s up Montel? I don’t get it. Is there a problem with Eric Bolling personally?

  3. Montel I wouldn’t worry about it it’s just the no spin zone and Bill O’Reilly . Who we all know can’t hold on to anything and less it’s done his way ! We all know he has anger issues and many other issues he needs to go to anger management classes for the next 10 years !!!
And if you went on the air? Bill O’Reilly would’ve did everything he wanted to and said anything he wanted to in order to get his point across and throwing you under the bus !!
