A film and television actor known for his roles in features including “Black Hawk Down” and “Saving Private Ryan” was arrested today in Los Angeles. The AP reports that Tom Sizemore was arrested this morning on suspicion of felony domestic violence and was being held on $50,000 bail.

Sizemore’s TV roles have included an arc on CBS’s “Hawaii Five-0” remake and a starring role on the short-lived CBS series “Robbery Homicide Division.”

“Sizemore, 54, has battled serious substance abuse problems over the years but has recently been working on the upcoming television series ‘Shooter,'” the AP reports. “His manager Charles Lago declined comment about the arrest.”

Sizemore’s efforts to overcome substance abuse issues have been chronicled on the TV shows “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew” and “Sober House.”

TMZ.com reports: “Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … LAPD received multiple 911 calls Tuesday morning about a woman screaming. When cops arrived … his girlfriend said she and Tom got into an argument that turned physical, and Tom struck her in the head and face. We’re told cops saw visible injuries … but she refused medical attention.”

TMZ notes that Sizemore has a history of domestic violence, having been sentenced to six months in jail in 2003 for beating up his then-girlfriend Heidi Fleiss.
