Following the shootings of police officers in Dallas last week, in which five officers were killed and as many as 10 other people were wounded, Variety reports that USA Network has delayed the premiere of its drama series “Shooter.”

The series, which was originally set to premiere July 19, was moved one week.

A spokesperson for USA is quoted in the report saying: “In light of recent tragic events and out of respect for the victims, their families and our viewers, we have decided to postpone the premiere date for the upcoming USA Network series ‘Shooter,’ to July 26.”

Ryan Phillippe stars in the series as a highly skilled, battle-tested sniper. The show, which also stars Omar Epps, is based on the 2007 Mark Wahlberg movie of the same name.
