HBO has announced when it will bring back “Game of Thrones” for season seven. The show, which wrapped up season six last month, will be back in summer 2017.
That’s later than the usual April premiere, with the delay related to the weather, as we reported previously.
HBO also revealed that season seven will consist of just seven episodes, down from the usual 10.
Entertainment Weekly notes: “HBO added that the next season will be shot in Northern Ireland, Spain, and Iceland. It’s been a couple years since the ‘Thrones’ team used Iceland for significant shooting, having primarily used the location for North of the Wall scenes when Jon Snow was embedded with the Wildlings camp.”
