How One Market Segment Raised the Bar This Year at TCA

At the recently wrapped Television Critics Association press tour, one market segment raised the bar significantly. That segment was streaming, with segment leader Netflix in particular upping the ante with its $6 billion content budget.

Netflix showcased a ton of new and established programming, spotlighting programs including “Narcos,” “Beat Bugs,” the “Gilmore Girls” revival and “Luke Cage.” And Netflix wasn’t the only streamer with plenty of content to highlight, as Hulu, with “The Mindy Project,” “Shut Eye” and more, and Amazon, with “The Man in the High Castle,” “Good Girls Revolt” and other programs, followed suit.
