E! Entertainment has pulled the plug on “I Am Cait,” its reality show focused on Caitlyn Jenner. Season two, which wrapped April 24, will be the show’s final season.
“The docuseries starring the former Bruce Jenner as she embraced her life as a woman debuted to big ratings of 2.73 million on July 26, 2015, but soon fell off,” Deadline.com reports. “Its Season 2, which premiered March 6, saw fewer than 500,000 total viewers for some episodes.”
Jenner announced the cancellation Tuesday on Twitter, telling fans: “After 2 amazing seasons of @IAmCait, it’s time for the next adventure. Thank you E! & thank you to the best girlfriends I could ask for!”
E! confirmed the cancellation, saying in a statement: “We are incredibly proud of the two seasons of ‘I Am Cait,’ a groundbreaking docuseries that sparked an important and unprecedented global conversation about transgender people, their struggles and triumphs. Caitlyn and E! have mutually decided not to move forward with another season at this time. She will always remain a part of the E! family, and we look forward to continue following her journey as she appears on ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians.’”
Jenner will reportedly be a part of the third season of Amazon’s “Transparent.”
