Ozzy Osbourne opened up about his addiction that caused his marriage to Sharon Osbourne to fall apart. In an exclusive, People magazine reports that a rep for the heavy metal icon said: “Over the last six years, Ozzy Osbourne has been dealing with a sex addiction.”

The People report notes: “In May, Sharon, 63, and Ozzy, 67, announced they were splitting after Ozzy’s four-year-long affair with his former hair colorist, Michelle Pugh, was revealed. Earlier this month, however, the longtime spouses said they were fighting for their marriage of 33 years, and Ozzy told ‘Good Morning America’ things were ‘back on track'”.

For her part, Pugh is discounting the “sex addict” theory, saying their relationship “felt like an old-fashioned romance.” The magazine is publishing an exclusive interview with Pugh in its issue that hits newsstands Friday.

The statement from Ozzy’s rep adds: “He is sorry if Ms. Pugh took their sexual relationship out of context. He would like to apologize to the other women he has been having sexual relationships with. Out of the bad comes good. Since his relationship with Ms. Pugh was exposed, Ozzy has gone into intense therapy.”
