A worker was killed in an accident late last week on the set of the sequel to “Blade Runner.” The AP reports that the incident took place Friday on the set in Budapest, Hungary, killing a construction worker.
“A statement from the film’s production company Alcon Entertainment says the worker was on a soundstage at Origo Studios ‘underneath a platform, upon which the set was constructed, when it suddenly collapsed. The cause of the accident is not yet known,'” the story reports.
The movie was reportedly not shooting at the time. No other details were released.
The untitled sequel to the 1982 cult favorite is being directed by “Sicario” and “Prisoners” filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, and is scheduled for release in October 2017.
