Legendary TV newsman Dan Rather has a new show premiering next week on radio. SiriusXM announced today that the weekly program “Dan Rather’s America” will bow Tuesday, Sept. 27, on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy channel 102.

The program, which rolls out at 10 a.m. ET, will air from SiriusXM’s New York headquarters in Rockefeller Center.

“Hot off his successful limited run show in July reporting for Radio Andy at the Republican National Convention and Democratic National Convention, the veteran journalist will return to SiriusXM for an exclusive new weekly show,” the company says in its announcement. “‘Dan Rather’s America’ will debut the morning after the first presidential debate, and will feature the news icon’s fresh commentary and analysis of one of the most anticipated political events in recent American history.”

The weekly program will feature a rotating lineup of top newsmakers discussing the political landscape and the big news stories of the day, with SiriusXM subscribers invited to call in.

Said Radio Andy creator Andy Cohen: “I’m pinching myself that Dan has agreed to lend his iconic voice to my channel. Now more than ever, I’m hungry to hear his thoughts and reflections about what’s going on in the world.”

  1. There won’t be anything “fresh” with Rather’s commentary. He’s been discredited and humiliated as a lying, misrepresenting, news inventing partisan.
