GSN announced plans today for “Friday Night Frights,” a horror-themed programming block that will run Fridays from 9-11 p.m. ET/PT starting Oct. 7.

The block will include new episodes of the hidden camera/comedy horror show “Scare Tactics,” hosted by former “Saturday Night Live” regular Tracy Morgan. “Scare Tactics” will be paired with GSN’s  horror-themed game show “Hellevator.”

“Scare Tactics,” from co-creator and executive producer Scott Hallock, involves elaborately staged horror hoaxes using movie-style special effects and makeup.

“Hellevator,” from Matador and Blumhouse Productions, finds four friends riding a haunted elevator into the depths of an abandoned slaughterhouse. “With $50,000 at stake, contestants must conquer multiple floors of terrifying chaos and hair-raising challenges in order to move on to the final level — The Inferno,” the announcement notes. “In addition to the psychological terror players will face during their quest, they must also endure the wrath of the show’s masterminds, horror film icons Jen and Sylvia Soska, aka the ‘Twisted Twins,’ who work in tandem from their secret lair to torment and trip up players as they struggle to remain sane and keep in mind, ‘it’s just a game.'”
