ABC Back in Business With One of Its ‘Desperate Housewives’

ABC, which got a lot of mileage out of eight seasons of “Desperate Housewives,” is dipping back into that talent pool for a new project bringing Eva Longoria back into the fold.

Longoria played Gabrielle Solis for the entire run of “Housewives,” from 2004-2012. Since then she has been keeping busy both in front of and behind the cameras, with projects including the NBC sitcom “Telenovela” and the Lifetime series “Devious Maids.”

Deadline.com reports that the new ABC project reunites Longoria with Chrissy Pietrosh and Jessica Goldstein, the creators of “Telenovela.” The new single-camera comedy, tentatively titled “940 Saturdays,” comes from Universal Television and Longoria & Ben Spector’s studio-based UnbeliEVAable Entertainment, Deadline notes.

Longoria, Spector, Pietrosh and Goldstein are executive producers.

Deadline notes that “940 Saturdays” refers to the span of time between when a child is born and when that child turns 18. In the series, the report adds, “three families band together to enjoy … and survive them all.”
