AT&T Offering a New TV Service With 100 Channels for Low Price

AT&T is about to unveil a new subscription service that will include 100 channels for a monthly rate of $35, TechCrunch reports. The service, which will become available in November when the company launches DirecTV, will also include mobile streaming.

Plans for the service were unveiled Tuesday at the Wall Street Journal Live conference, where AT&T’s Randall Stephenson and Time Warner’s Jeff Bewkes discussed the companies’ proposed merger.

“Stephenson was adamant the low-priced subscription plan wouldn’t be possible without the previous DirecTV deal and — despite the coming regulatory hurdles involved — seemed confident about the prospect of joining business hands with Bewkes, saying the goal is to drive pricing down even further,” TechCrunch reports.
