NBC has made its ouster of Billy Bush from the “Today” show official, with the show’s supervising executive making the announcement today in a note to staffers.

Variety reports that Noah Oppenheim, the NBC News senior VP who oversees “Today,” says in the memo: “Billy Bush will be leaving the ‘Today’ show’s 9 a.m. hour, effective today. While he was a new member of the ‘Today’ team, he was a valued colleague and longtime member of the broader NBC family. We wish him success as he goes forward.”

Bush also released a statement, saying: “I am deeply grateful for the conversations I’ve had with my daughters, and for all of the support from family, friends and colleagues.  I look forward to what lies ahead.”

  1. Good. Still not gonna watch tho..

  2. The 9am hour needs a lot of help. Billy Bush was the reason I kept watching. I think it was a dumb idea to let him go. Nbc jist trying to save face. Billie was just doing his job with Trump which was to get information years ago. Now you want to punish him because it got national attention. Shame on you. Bring Willie back!

  3. You are aware that Mr. Trump is not going to win this election, yes? And who helped? Billy Bush. Thank you!!
