Award-winning documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, whose films have included everything from “Where in the World Is Osama bin Laden” to “Super Size Me,” takes on a subject in his latest project that is bound to horrify a lot of viewers. The new project, which premieres Oct. 22 on Discovery Channel, is all about rats.

Spurlock travels the globe to examine the lives of rats in the project, “Rats,” which Discovery is billing as a “horrormentary film.” The movie will visit New York, New Orleans, Vietnam, England and India.

The project is inspired by Robert Sullivan’s New York Times bestselling book “Rats: Observations on the History & Habitat of the City’s Most Unwanted Inhabitants.”
