Billy Bush is poised to make out pretty well as he parts ways with NBC. The New York Post’s Page Six reports that Bush, whose legal team has been negotiating his exit with brass at NBC News, is likely to receive a $10 million lump settlement.

The report cites sources saying the anticipated lump sum payment represents the full value of his three-year contract. Bush started his job at “Today” in August.

Bush is being pushed out after a tape surfaced from 2005 in which he and Donald Trump engage in a lewd conversation about women.

The report quotes Marshall Grossman, an attorney for Bush, telling the publication on Friday: “Negotiations between Billy and NBC are progressing, and will continue to progress, and hopefully we will reach a conclusion in the near future. We were preparing for battle, but today we are preparing for settlement.”

The report notes that Bush is not expected to be reassigned to another position at NBC — the “soft landing” treatment that Brian Williams received. “We’re told NBC News chief Andy Lack has already ordered Bush’s office be cleared and all traces of him removed from their Rockefeller Center offices,” The Post reports.

  1. Kelly Ripa should grab him for co-host. Despite NBC being politically correct, he is very popular with women and with his experience, would be a strong co-host. The other great thing is that he has shown throughout his career that his ego doesn’t require him to be the #1 star. That is exactly the type of co-host that Kelly needs.

  2. Couldn’t agree with you more Guilty Cleric. Good insight.

  3. He should receive 9 million, 9 hundred and ninety nine dollars and walk away from the “job” with a penny for his time.

  4. NBC is a tool of the Democratic party. There was no reason to let him go. It was obviously bending to the wishes of their party.
