ABC has made a couple of key programming moves, including giving a full-season order to the freshman series “American Housewife.” The Tuesday night comedy, which stars Katy Mixon, received an order for an additional nine episodes.
Channing Dungey, president, ABC Television Network, made the announcement.
ABC also has reportedly ordered three additional episodes of the sophomore series “The Real O’Neals.”
The “American Housewife” announcement notes: “Tuesday’s No. 1 comedy this season in Total Viewers (7.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.4/8), ABC’s ‘American Housewife’ builds on its young-adult lead-in at 8:30 p.m. by 14% on average to rank a competitive No. 2 in its half-hour to NBC’s ‘The Voice.’ The new ABC comedy is improving its time period year to year by 2.1 million viewers and by 9% in Adults 18-49.”
