Fox Business Network did something in October that it has never managed to do before: It notched its first full-month ratings win over rival business news channel CNBC.
Adweek reports that FBN, which was also marking its ninth anniversary in October, averaged 170,000 total viewers for the business day, topping CNBC’s 164,000. It was FBN’s most watched month in history, and an improvement of 67% from the year-ago month.
“CNBC won the advertiser-friendly A25-54 demo (33,000 vs. 22,000),” TVNewser notes. “But FBN saw growth in the demo (+38 percent), while CNBC lost demo viewers (-35 percent) vs. October 2015.”
